© AVESCO 2004 - Division E Updated 21 April 2004 Page E 1 DIVISION “E” – OPERATIONS RULES E 1 RIDES E 1.1 Definitions “MM” means the AVESCO Media Manager. “AOM” means the AVESCO Assistant Operations Manager. “Group” bears the same meaning as in Rule D 1.1.2. “Rides” are where a Team uses a Car to carry a passenger solely in connection with: 1.1.1 the commercial or media activities of the Team or Group; or 1.1.2 the commercial or media activities of a Team’s or Group’s sponsor/s; or

1.1.3 any commercial or media activities required of a Team or Group by AVESCO; or 1.1.4 any public competition winner; or 1.1.5 any other ride permitted by AVESCO E 1.2 Types of Rides 1.2.1 “Corporate Rides” are those undertaken independent of any Meeting. 1.2.2 “Meeting Rides” are those undertaken at and as part of a Meeting. E 1.3 Prohibitions 1.3.1 No Ride of any type is to be also used by any Team or Group in any way for testing (as defined in Rule D 1.1.3) of a Car. 1.3.2 At any Meeting Ride unless specifically permitted by AVESCO, Team personnel or

other people providing any technical services to a Team are excluded from being a passenger in a Car. 1.3.3 During any Meeting Ride session it is forbidden to jack up any part of a Car without the express prior permission of the CTD. 1.3.4 At a Ride of any type, no adjustment – other than as necessary to safely fit a passenger in a Car – may be made to any Car used for Rides, unless the express prior permission of the CTD has been obtained. 1.3.5 During Meeting Ride sessions, Cars taking part in Meeting rides must remain in pit

lane and may only be removed once that Car’s allocated rides are completed or with the permission of the CTD. E 1.4 Indemnity Form for Passengers Any person, intending to be a passenger in any Ride, before entering a Car must read and sign, and have read to them, an official Indemnity Form, and failure of the person to do so will automatically compel the Team or Group to refuse to carry that person as a passenger. E 1.5 Requirements of Passengers At any type of Ride, at all times the Car is on the race track, only one passenger at a time is

permitted and that person must be: 1.5.1 correctly restrained in the passenger’s seat with the safety harness (Rule C 6.2) properly fastened, 1.5.2 protected by a window net conforming to Rule C 6.3; 1.5.3 wearing a properly fastened safety helmet (Rule C 18.1), 1.5.4 wearing clothing conforming to Rule C 18.34; 1.5.5 wearing closed shoes (no thongs, sandals, or similar footwear), and 1.5.6 not carrying any hand-held objects such as a camera of any type. © AVESCO 2004 - Division E

Updated 21 April 2004 Page E 2 E 1.6 Warm-up At any Ride session, other than those conducted on the same day as and following the completion of a practice session, and before carrying the first passenger in a Car, the Team may have the Car to be used for the Ride undertake no more than one ‘flying’ lap (defined in Rule E 1.7.2) of the race track to check and warm up the Car which must contain the driver only. E 1.7 Number of Laps 1.7.1 At any Ride, unless otherwise specified in regulations or authorised by the AVESCO

Operations Manager, each Car is permitted to undertake only one (1) “flying lap” of the race track for each individual passenger carried. 1.7.2 A “flying lap” is one in which a Car carrying a passenger is permitted only to: 1.7.2.1 exit the pit lane and complete that part of a lap until the Car crosses the start/finish line, and then 1.7.2.2 complete a whole lap (the “flying lap”) which must finish when the Car crosses the start/finish line again; and then 1.7.2.3 complete that part of a further lap which is necessary to return to the pit

lane. 1.8 Speed and Conduct At any Ride, at all times while being used to carry a passenger: 1.8.1 at no time must a Car be driven at full racing speed, it is suggested the Car be driven at no more than eighty per cent (80%) of the Car/driver potential; and 1.8.2 the driver must not lose control of the Car or allow the Car to leave the racing surface. 1.9 Meeting Rides – Allocations 1.9.1 Meeting Rides may only be undertaken if they have been allocated to a Team by the MM, and all such Rides will be conducted only if permitted by, and subject to any

additional terms contained in, Supplementary and/or Further Regulations. 1.9.2 The MM will utilise a systemised allocation of Meeting Rides per Season per Team to ensure a fair and equitable availability of Rides at Meetings. 1.9.3 Any Team intending to utilise a Meeting Ride it has been allocated, must give the MM written notice of such intention no less than fourteen (14) working days prior to the scheduled first day of the Meeting at which it is intended to conduct the Meeting Ride.

E 1.10 Corporate Rides - Conditions Corporate Rides may only be undertaken by a Team or Group subject to: 1.10.1 The Team or Group giving no less than five (5) working days written notice to the AOM of an intention to hold, and providing full particulars of, proposed Corporate Rides; and 1.10.2 The Team or Group accepting that AVESCO may charge the Team or Group for the costs of the attendance of the appointed AVESCO Official who must be present to supervise the Ride on behalf of AVESCO; and

1.10.3 On the day arranged, at the track the appointed AVESCO Official carrying out an inspection of the Car/s to be used before the Car/s are permitted onto the racing track; 1.10.4 While participating in Corporate Rides neither the Car/s nor their components may be adjusted or ‘fine-tuned’ for racing in any way and no computer or electronic data download or connection is permitted; and 1.10.5 Should some safety related item on a Car require adjustment, this may be permitted

only by the appointed AVESCO Official present at the track, and 1.10.6 Before any Corporate Ride session, a Car’s engine must not be started for any reason before the arrival at the Ride venue of the AVESCO official appointed to supervise the Ride, and who must give approval before a Car’s engine can be started. © AVESCO 2004 - Division E Updated 21 April 2004 Page E 3 1.10.7 Subject to compliance with all this Rule E 1.10, Corporate Rides will not constitute a test day for the purposes of Rule D 1.

1.10.8 The Corporate Ride being conducted only at: 1.10.8.1 the relevant Team’s nominated test track (Rule D 1) at any time; 1.10.8.2 any three one other motor racing circuits or any part thereof which hosts a round of the relevant series, but only after the round of the relevant series has been conducted at that circuit in the relevant Season; 1.10.8.3 at any other motor racing circuit or any part thereof which does not host any round of the relevant series and which has been approved by AVESCO’s

Operations Manager. E 1.11 Tyres 1.11.1 Teams and Groups must exclusively use the Dunlop control tyres allocated to the particular Car being tested, identified by the Car’s competition number. 1.11.2 If a Team or Group replaces a Car (identified by the Car’s competition number), the Team or Group must apply to, and receive the written permission of, AVESCO to use the tyres, originally allocated to the replaced Car, on the replacement Car. © AVESCO 2004 - Division E Updated 21 April 2004

Page E 4 Rule E 1.4 DISCLAIMER STATEMENT (This disclaimer is to be completed where passenger is offered a ride in a competition car eg for a lap around the track - "corporate rides" and "hot laps" – including as a result of winning a prize) DISCLAIMER EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY, RELEASE AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK PASSENGERS IN VEHICLES In exchange for being able to attend the circuit and ride as a passenger in a vehicle (whether during a motor sports event or otherwise), I agree: • to release CAMS and Australian Motor Sport Commission Ltd, Australian Vee-Eight Supercar Company Pty Limited, TouringCar

Entrants Group Australia Pty Limited, promoters, sponsor organisations, land owners and lessees, organisers of the event, race teams, competitors, their respective servants, officials, representatives and agents (collectively, the "Associated Entities") from all liability for my death, personal injury (including burns), psychological trauma, loss or damage (including property damage) ("harm") howsoever arising from my participation in or attendance at the event (including any negligence on the part of CAMS and

the Associated Entities), except to the extent prohibited by law; • that CAMS and the Associated Entities do not make any warranty, implied or express, that the event services will be provided with due care and skill or that any materials provided in connection with the services will be fit for the purpose for which they are supplied; and • to attend the circuit and ride as a passenger at my own risk. I acknowledge that: • the risks associated with attending the circuit and riding as a passenger in a vehicle (whether during an event or otherwise)

include the risk that I may suffer harm as a result of: • motor vehicles (or parts of them) colliding with other motor vehicles, persons or property; • acts of violence and other harmful acts (whether intentional or inadvertent) committed by persons attending or participating in the event; and • the failure or unsuitability of facilities (including grand-stands, fences and guard rails) to ensure the safety of persons or property at the event. • motor sport is dangerous and that accidents causing harm can and do happen and may happen to me.

I accept the conditions of, and acknowledge the risks arising from, attending the circuit and riding as a passenger and being provided with services by CAMS and the Associated Entities. 2.1.1 Unless otherwise advised in Supplementary/Further Regulations, the top 10 drivers from qualifying are to attend a “Meet the Public” activity at a place and at a time which will be advised Supplementary/Further Regulations or directly to the relevant Team by the AVESCO Media Manager (“MM”). 2.1.2 The first five drivers from qualifying, plus other drivers as directed by the MM are required to attend a media conference at a time which will be advised in Supplementary/Further Regulations.

2.1.3 On Sunday at the conclusion of racing, and immediately after the dais ceremony, the drivers of the Cars placed first, second, third overall will be taken to the media room where they may be interviewed by the media. 2.1.4 All drivers at these presentations must be suitably attired - ie, driving suits must remain 'done up' to the neck, not opened to the waist. 2.1.5 All drivers may be required to attend Public and Media activities, the details of the activities required of drivers will be published in Supplementary/Further Regulations or

directly to the relevant Team by the MM. E 2.2 Endurance Rounds All drivers will be required to attend Public and Media activities, the details of the activities required of drivers will be published in Supplementary/Further Regulations or directly to the relevant Team by the MM. E 2.3 Non Attendance Failure by drivers to attend as required in this Rule E 2 will result in the matter being referred to the Stewards. E 2.4 Series’ Promotional Requirements 2.4.1 Television Upon entering any series, Competitors undertake to assist the Network Ten,

organisers, promoters and circuit managers in the promotion of the series. 2.4.2 Merchandising 2.4.2.1 The selling of any Team or other merchandise from Team garages, transporters or other vehicles, or Cars is strictly prohibited; the sale of such merchandise may only be made from licensed locations approved by the Organisers. 2.4.2.2 Selling of Team or other merchandise within the paddock area is strictly forbidden unless with the prior written permission of AVESCO. 2.4.3 Garages – Public Viewing Access

As a part of the AVESCO public awareness program, at all times when crews are in attendance, Teams must keep their pit and paddock garages open to allow the public constant unimpeded line of sight through the garage viewing access. Teams wanting to keep anything within their pit or paddock garage from view are requested to cover the item/s affected rather than close the whole garage from view. Screens or partitions that impede the line of sight are not permitted. E 2.5 Television Facility

2.5.1 A Meeting, or such part of it as is determined by AVESCO, will be broadcast by the Ten Network. 2.5.2 By undertaking to enter any Meeting, the Competitor agrees to relinquish any claim or right to the broadcast (Rule E 2.5.1), or any other material related to that broadcast. © AVESCO 2004 - Division E Updated 21 April 2004 Page E 6 2.5.3 No Competitor, driver or Team member will be permitted to access the television OB van or gain access to race footage directly from the broadcaster, without obtaining the

expressed permission of the Race Director and the broadcaster’s Executive Producer. 2.5.4 Any filming or any other means of recording images for commercial purposes at a Meeting by any Participant is strictly forbidden unless with the prior express permission of the MM. E 2.6 Television Presentation 2.6.1 At the conclusion of each series’ round, a television presentation will be undertaken by the Ten Network producer, at a place agreed between the Ten Network, AVESCO, and the promoter.

2.6.2 All drivers at this presentation must be suitably attired - ie, driving suits must remain 'done up' to the neck, not opened to the waist, and Dunlop caps must be worn. 2.6.3 Drivers are not permitted to wear caps displaying Tyre Manufacturers’ logos or names on the podium other than Dunlop, but any other corporate cap is permitted. 2.6.4 No beverages other than the official champagne, the official sports drink or “unbranded” bottled water are permitted on the Podium during any presentation.

E 2.7 Sponsors’ Presence 2.7.1 Start Line Activities 2.7.1.1 On the starting grid, subject to the requirement of the promoter, there is no prohibition on sponsors’ promotional personnel being present, but all such personnel are subject to the requirements in these Rules for clearing the grid, and must vacate the grid no later than at the 2-Minute signal. 2.7.1.2 Team Sponsor umbrellas are permitted. 2.7.1.3 The use of banners or flags will require prior written approval from AVESCO.

2.7.1.4 An appropriate dress code will apply at the direction of AVESCO. 2.7.2 Presence at Podium Presentations Without the prior permission of AVESCO’s Media or Operations Manager, commercial and promotional personnel are not permitted in the vicinity of the podium presentation, apart from those persons directly concerned with the actual Team (ie. drivers and Team members ). E 2.8 Corporate Activities 2.8.1 Supplementary/Further Regulations may provide for corporate and/or commercial

activities to be undertaken on or adjacent to the race track at times other than times prescribed for on-track competition. 2.8.2 Without limiting the general nature of Rule E 2.8.1, Supplementary/Further Regulations may permit passengers to be carried around the race track in specifically designated vehicles, and in such an eventuality, may provide the conditions under which such activities will take place. 2.8.3 Should any regulations make provision for any activities pursuant to this Rule E 1.8,

failure by any person to comply with the terms of such regulations will be referred to the Stewards. E 2.9 KVS Rounds All drivers may be required to attend Public and Media activities, the details of the activities required of drivers will be published in Supplementary/Further Regulations or directly to the relevant Team by the MM. © AVESCO 2004 - Division E Updated 21 April 2004 Page E 7 E 3 COMPETITION NUMBERS E 3.1 Allocation & Register 3.1.1 The allocation of all competition numbers for Cars is solely the responsibility of

AVESCO, which will maintain a register of all competition numbers allocated to, or reserved for, any Car. 3.1.2 The total of competition numbers allocated and held by any Team will not exceed the number of Cars that Team is entitled to run in V8 Supercar competitions. E 3.2 Application 3.2.1 Teams who do not have a competition number already allocated to a Car, must apply in writing to AVESCO for a competition number to be issued. 3.2.2 The application may include the preferred competition number, and may also list up to

five alternative numbers nominated by the applicant Team in case their preferred number is unavailable. 3.2.3 In the event of none of the numbers nominated being available, AVESCO will so advise the applicant and allocate a new number to the Team. E 3.3 Conflict 3.3.1 Subject to Rule E 3.3.3 below, where two or more Teams make application for the same unallocated number, on the same date, AVESCO will generally allocate the competition number to the more senior of the contending Teams.

3.3.2 For Rule E 3.3.1, the “more senior of the contending Teams” will be determined by reference to the TEGA Teams’ Licence Agreement Level of the contending Teams. 3.3.3 AVESCO may vary the application of Rule E 3.3.1 only if, in its sole discretion, it is in the best interests of the Category so to do. E 3.4 Reservation 3.4.1 Competition number “1” is always reserved for the current VSC driver’s champion who has sole rights to that number for the duration of the Season which follows that in

which the VSC was won. 3.4.2 In the event that the current VSC driver’s champion elects not to take competition number “1”, that number will not be allocated until a new VSC driver’s champion elects to take up that number. 3.4.3 Allocation of competition number “1” will automatically entail reservation of the VSC driver’s champion’s previous competition number for such period as that driver retains the status of the VSC champion. E 3.5 Change of Number 3.5.1 Teams may request AVESCO to change one or more of their current numbers for an

unallocated number or numbers. 3.5.2 If granted, the change of number will be immediate upon notification by AVESCO of the successful change. 3.5.3 Once a change has been approved the Team will no longer have any rights to the competition number that has been replaced by the new number. 3.5.4 Subject to Rule E 3.5.6 below, Teams may change any competition number no more than once in a calendar year. 3.5.5 Any Teams that changes a number must compete using the new number at no less

than one V8 Supercar competition in the calendar year in which the change was made. 3.5.6 AVESCO may vary the application of Rule E 3.5.4 only if, in its sole discretion, it is in the best interests of the Category so to do. © AVESCO 2004 - Division E Updated 21 April 2004 Page E 8 E 4 TRANSFER OF A CAR E 4.1 Definitions 4.1.1 A “transfer” means to part with the possession of a Car by way of sale or lease, or the loan of a Car for more than one calendar month, to another person or entity whether or

not the transferee has executed a Teams’ Licence Agreement with TEGA. 4.1.2 A “transferee” means that person or entity to whom a Car is transferred. 4.1.3 A “transferor” means that person or entity who transfers a Car. E 4.2 Notify AVESCO 4.2.1 A Team who transfers any Car must notify AVESCO within five (5) working days from the date of the transfer in writing by way of the Transfer Form appended to this Rule. 4.2.2 All particulars on the Transfer Form must be completed by the transferor who will be

held responsible by AVESCO for providing such information. E 4.3 Tyres If a transferor, at the time of transferring a Car, has any control tyres which have been allocated to the Car the subject of the transfer, the transferor must: 4.3.1 where the transferee is not a current party to a Teams’ Licence Agreement, return all the control tyres to Dunlop as provided in Rule C 15; or 4.3.2 where the transferee is a party to a current Teams’ Licence Agreement, transfer to the transferee the control tyres allocated to the Car as detailed in item 5 of the Transfer

Form (Rule E 4.2.1); 4.3.4 In any case in which Rule E 4.3.2 applies, upon such transfer being made, the transferee will be bound by Rule C 15. 4.4 Notify CAMS It is the responsibility of the transferee, upon taking possession of a Car, to notify CAMS of the completion of the transfer by applying for a change to the ownership details as included in the Car’s CAMS Log Book and, if necessary, to obtain from CAMS a Competitor’s Pass Book/Licence for the Car so transferred. 4.5 Nomination of CAMS log Book Numbers

4.5.1 A Team must nominate to AVESCO, using the form provided, Cars as identified by their CAMS log Book numbers that will be raced or tested using the Team’s allocated competition numbers. 4.5.2 Any Team that purchases or builds a new Car must nominate the CAMS Log Book number to AVESCO five (5) days prior to any Meeting or Test. © AVESCO 2004 - Division E Updated 21 April 2004 Page E 9 RULE E 4.2.1 TRANSFER FORM NOTIFICATION OF TRANSFER OF A CAR 1.…...……………………………………………………………………………………….

SERIES’ SPONSORS E 5.1 VSC Series Identification 5.1.1 By entering any round in the VSC, Entrants and their sponsors agree to refer to it by

its full title, "The V8 Supercar Championship Series". 5.1.2 Any advertising material must include the full title, and it is the responsibility of the Competitor to ensure that this requirement is met. 5.1.3 An abbreviated term "2004 V8 Supercar Series" may also be used provided the full title is used at least once. E 5.2 Konica Championship KVS Series Identification 5.1.1 By entering any round in the KVS, Entrants and their sponsors agree to refer to it by its full title, "The 2004 Konica Minolta V8 Supercar Series".

5.1.2 Any advertising material must include the full title, and it is the responsibility of the Competitor to ensure that this requirement is met. 5.1.3 An abbreviated term "2004 Konica Minolta Series" may also be used provided the full title is used at least once. E 6 V8 SUPERCAR TRANSPORTER IDENTIFICATION At all times Team race transporters must carry the V8 Supercar identification decals, as supplied by the AVESCO AOM, on both sides or the rear of the trailer. E 7 V8 SUPERCAR TEAM PADDOCK CATERING

Catering for sponsors and guests is strictly prohibited in the V8 Supercar Paddock; such catering may only be conducted from locations approved by the Organisers. E 8 LOADING OF TRANSPORTERS At all times that transporter tail lifts are in operation Teams must: 8.1 Use barriers to ensure that only Team members are able to get closer than one metre to the perimeter of the tail lift; 8.2 Have present a tail lift controller who will be responsible for the use of the transporter tail lift (including compliance with E8.1) and who will not perform any other duties

during the operation of the transporter tail lift other than the use of the tail lift controls. E 9 V8 SUPERCAR TEAM PADDOCK ALLOCATION 9.1 Each team will be permitted to park one transporter in the designated V8 Supercar Paddock area. Teams with 3 or more Cars may be permitted to park one additional transporter in the same paddock area provided that there is sufficient space. 9.2 No other vehicle used by a team will be permitted to park in the V8 Supercar Paddock at any time.

9.3 Each team will be permitted one ‘motor-home or catering space’ in the designated V8 Supercar Team Catering Area. In circumstances where space is limited in the Team Catering Area, and at the sole discretion of the AOM, such motor-home or catering space may be allocated within the V8 Supercar Paddock area. 9.4 All Team catering equipment must fit within this area. Any additional motor-home or catering facility will only be permitted outside of the paddock strictly on the basis of
