155 2005 V8 Supercar Rules Rule Changes (Not Including Judicial) SAFETY • Compulsory use of the HANS Device in the VCS and the DVS • All Safety related car items reflect the FIA Standards instead of local standards to further bring V8 Supercars in line with international standards. i.e: Belts, Extinguishers, Seats • Change in the Differential Ratios that are used at Bathurst and Pukekohe TESTING • Testing ban at the conclusion of the championship year extended to 16 December • Testing Ban for all teams from the 10 April through the 12 May while the Cars are away for the New Zealand event. • A maximum of two cars of each model may be tested by any team or group on the one day. EG: 2 x BA Ford and 2 x AU Ford or 2 x VZ/VY Holden and 2 x VX Holden PRE-RACE • No warm-up sessions • All cars will be in Pit Lane nose out at 45 degrees prior to all race starts • Cars can only leave their Pit Bay once Pit Exit is open. No queuing in Pit Lane prior to start of a session. • No Pre Race roll around laps, once cars have exited Pit Lane they must proceed directly to the Grid. Should a car re-enter Pit Lane it will start the race from Pit Lane. COMPULSORY PIT STOPS (CPS) - SPRINT ROUNDS • Two CPS lights compulsory for all Cars, 1 x Yellow and 1 x Green. For all single driver / sprint rounds, the lights will be on at the commencement of the Race and once the part of the stop has been completed either tyres or fuel the relevant light will be switched off by the Driver. • During all CPS’s at a Sprint Round, Teams must have two (2) air impact tools allocated to each side of the Car. • In the event of a failure of an air impact tool during a CPS, the Team will be permitted to replace the air impact tool suffering the failure with the other air impact tool allocated to that side of the Car. • No air impact tool is permitted to be used on both sides of a Car during a CPS. TOP TEN • Top 10 Shootout order will be randomly selected after the conclusion of qualifying. • At most events, the shootout will occur 15 minutes after the end of qualifying. PRIZES, TROPHIES AND POINTSCORES • All Races in each Round of the DVS will count in determining the final result of the DVS Championship. • At the end of Round 10 of the VCS, the lowest point scoring round attended by each Driver in the VCS will be dropped from that Driver’s VCS series point score. • All rounds of the VCS after the conclusion of Round 10 will be counted in each VCS Driver’s overall point score. • A maximum of 12 Rounds of the VCS per Driver will count in determining the final result of the VCS Drivers Championship. Acceptance of any Driver nominated for the Privateers Cup will be at the sole discretion of AVESCO.
